We went to Cincinnati hospital yesterday and saw Doug. His surgeries went well. He is on alot of pain medication. Doug was able to talk to us for a good fifteen minutes prior to the medicine putting him in "La La Land" The doctor had not made it in prior to us leaving, but Doug seems to be in pretty spirits, and for those of you that know Doug he still had his sense of humor. Some others are headed to see him today and are suppose to give me a better update and I will let everyone know.

Darrell yes Tim and I have talked and he is having a "passing helmet" on Saturday. Also I have had several hornet drivers call and ask me why don't we have a Hornet meeting and do like we did last year for a family. And that is quote "give all our winnings to Doug" My response was we would have to have a meeting with the drivers and see what they would like to do. This is the drivers choice, but like Darrell said Doug would do anything to help anyone out at the track and now it's up to us to do something for him.

So hornet drivers as well as other classes, lets see what we can come up with and let us know.

Also anyone that is interested in a Motorcycle Ride Benefit we are planning one for Sunday July 12th starting at Brewskies in Seymour. I currently have live music scheduled to play with two different shows volunteering their time to help raise money for Doug. Special thanks to Clint Robinson band out of seymour and Billy Bishop Acoustics out of North Vernon for volunteering their time. Also that evening I will be DJing and doing some karaoke. Still have other prospects in line just haven't had them commit yet.

Anyways the Ride is scheduled for july 12th, at brewskies. We have a scheduled tour of approximately a hundred miles which includes a few stops like Mann's, TJ's, and more. We will end back at brewskies for the rest of the fundraiser with a silent auction, 50/50 drawing, and door prizes.

Registration starts at 11:00 a.m. and will end at 11:45 a.m with the ride departing at NOON sharp.

Cost is single rider $15 and double rider $20. All proceeds will go to Doug and his family to help with expenses they will occur.

Please pass this info on to anyone that has a motorcycle of any kind that is street legal and get them up here to help our friend and fellow racer out.

Also if there are any businesses out there that would be willing to donate any items for the silent auction please call me at 812-216-5796 and we can make arrangements for picking up the items.

Also we are offering 3 types of cash donations, which are listed as:
Bronze: $25
Silver:$50
Gold: $100

Feel free to call me and I will come pick up the donations. Remember everything is for Doug and his family. So lets do what we can to help him out.

HUGE UPDATE: Just received a phone call and Doug is almost home, he is still in some pain however they are controlling it by meds, or at least trying.
